A loan of $5,000 helped a member buying 40 cases of Fanta soft drink.

Neema Group's story

Kyakimwa S. is an entrepreneure and president of the Neema solidarity group, which is composed of 14 members. She is 52 years old and married with six children. Her husband is an official with the Congolese control office, one of DRC’s largest public corporations.

She sells Fanta (soft drink) from her home. She started her business using her own capital to sell pagnes (colorful West-African cloth). Later, in 2004, she obtained a $50 loan from the Hekima MFI.

This new loan will be used to buy merchandise (40 cases of Fanta soft drink) to increase her stock both in volume and in value. She also plans to open a reference shop.

Kyakimwa S. wishes to thank Hekima for helping the less fortunate who don’t have the option of turning to traditional banks.
