A loan of $425 helped to buy tools and materials used in a mechanics shop: four way wrenches, tongs, patches, motor grease, oil filters, and vehicle parts.

Irineo's story

Irineo G. P. is a young man of 24 years of age. He is single, and he works in a mechanics shop that he founded some years ago. He finished his high school education, but did not continue his studies due to his complete dedication to his work.
He is requesting a loan to buy tools and accessories for his work. With this loan, he will buy: four way wrenches, tongs, motor grease, lubricants, filters, antifreeze, brake fluid, pistons, and spark plugs. Things are going well for Irineo and his shop, but he does not own the premises. So far, he has been able to pay the rent on time and also pays his assistant on time. He tells us that the auto mechanic trade is a little difficult and sometimes work is scarce.
It will not be hard for him to pay back his loan because he is an honest and responsible person. His challenge is competition from other auto mechanics, but when he does good work, everyone recognizes it.
Irineo hopes to have his own business premises some day, to not have to pay rent, and to increase his staff and equipment so that he can offer more services. He tells us that, for the moment, he does not have plans to get married or engaged because he wants to build a solid business first so that in the future it won't be so difficult to support a family.
He gives thanks to Fundacion Realidad and to Kiva for opening this door to him as it is a little difficult for men to find other investors.
