Libia Mercedes's story

Libia O. is a member of Nuevos Horizontes (New Horizons) community bank and lives in the María Auxiliadora sector of the city of Cuenca. It is a city known for its beautiful scenery, its mixture of colonial and modern traits, its four rivers that make it unique, and its gastronomy that captivates locals and foreigners alike. Libia is 61 years old, married and has five adult children, three who are married and live on their own and two who are single and work and help with household expenses. Her husband works as a private employee in a factory. They do not have their own home so they rent. Libia dedicates herself to taking care of the house but in her free time she makes a living selling clothing, footwear, etc. She has traveled the city selling her products for the past seven years, working from Monday through Saturday. She has belonged to her community bank for 12 years, and the loans have helped her grow her business little by little. She plans to use this loan to invest in the purchase of more clothing and footwear. Her goal is to keep working and grow her business even more.
