In this Group: Mauricio , Faustino, Alberto Macario , Santiago, Filomena
Mr. Mauricio V. C. is married and has four children. He finished fifth grade. His children are still in his care. One of his sons raises domestic animals like cattle and pigs; he’s had this business for 15 years now. With much enthusiasm and support from several neighbors they got together to form a group to request a loan. The group is called “Los Exitosos” (The Successful Ones).

It has five members who are involved in a variety of activities among which we can mention the following: raising animals, grocery store, shoe repairs.

The loan will be used to buy domestic animals to raise for subsequent sale thus increasing sales volume. One of the difficulties of being a business owner is the lack of capital but, with help from his children, he has managed to get ahead and he hopes his business will be larger and more productive with help from the loan he’s asking from ASDIR.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
