A loan of $1,200 helped to build her home.

Irma Yolanda's story

Irma is 68 years old, widowed, and has four children who are all independent. Irma was born in Cusco province and she currently lives in the city of Cusco with some of her children.

Irma has worked in a number of businesses, as an events organizer, sewing, selling dairy products and renting out rooms.

Irma hopes to receive a loan for $1,200 USD and she will use this money to build her home so that she can then rent out rooms. Her dream is to open a business offering accommodations in the colonial-style house that she bought a short time ago.

Irma belongs to Asociación Arariwa's "Velasco Astete" community bank. This community bank is in its ninth year and is well run by a board of directors.
