A loan of $725 helped to buy more stock for her business.

Mery's story

49-year old Mery lives in her own house with her son. Together they work hard on a daily basis to make progress in life. For the last six years this enterprising woman has sold notions and underwear in the local streets. She works every day including weekends. As she works outdoors, she generally sits under an umbrella to shelter her from the sun and rain.

Mery has regular customers who seek her out because she sells her products for low prices. She gets her stock from local distributors. Mery says her business is profitable and is doing well so she gets a good income from it.

In the future she wants to continue in the same business but expand her stock. This is her second loan with Kiva partner MFP, and she promises to make her repayments on time. She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of her community bank as all the members are responsible and committed. She wishes to thank the donors as this loan will help her with her business. She plans to use the money to buy more merchandise and continue making progress.
