A loan of $1,200 helped to buy merchandise for his store.

Modesto's story

Señor Modesto Batállanos N. is married and has two children. He and his wife are responsible for their support and education. She is a hardworking dependable woman.

Modesto and his wife run a neighbourhood shop. Modesto also raises pigs to sell in the various Cochabamba and Trópico markets and works in transportation in the Ivirgarzama area. He’s been an active member of the transportation company for more than two years. It’s a profitable job; many people ask for him because he provides straightforward, quick, and efficient service. For each member, the union organizes shifts and a stop so that customers know where to go to get service.

This is the first time that Modesto has asked for a loan from our institution. He plans to use the money to buy merchandise for his shop where his wife works, and thus increase income and improve their standard of living.
