Song's story

Song H., 42, is married and resides with her husband and three children in Kampong Chnang Province, Cambodia, an area known for quality palm products. She is a housewife, while her husband is a carpenter earning an income of USD 4 per day to help cover the family expenses. Two of her children are employed at a factory and earn an income of USD 3 each per day. Each month, the family has to spend USD 70 on food and 15 on the children’s education.

Song is requesting a loan of USD 500 to purchase cows to raise for their offspring. In the future, she would like to use any additional income to purchase more cows to expand her business. This will be her first loan from CREDIT, a longstanding Kiva partner.

Song appears in the photograph with her daughter.
