Santa Rosa De Lima Group's story

Enaida Q. is 44 years old and lives in Los Olivos district in Lima, Perú. She is separated from her children's father. They both share a business owing to the fact that he worked for 20 years in a factory making bread machines. When he gave up his job, they both decided to set up their own workshop and make machines themselves. The business belongs to both of them. Enaida does the administrative work, keeping everything in order. The business is going well in spite of some difficulties that they have had recently because of the rise in the price of flour and fuel. Few people dare take the risk of starting out in the bakery business right now. For this reason, they are now investing in buying second-hand machines which they will repair and renovate so that they can sell them cheaply to give their customers a chance. Enaida's biggest investment is having made progress in building her house.

Enaida has another business which is selling bedspreads, sheets and towels. She will invest her loan in this business. The summer season is good for this type of business and she has many customers for her products. Enaida is also secretary of the "SANTA ROSA DE LIMA" group which is made up of 10 hard-working and enterprising women.
