Karina Ivonne's story

The 11 de Septiembre ['September 11th'] Community Bank meets in the city of Charapoto every fifteen days. This location is known for its traditional culture and for being minutes away from the province's best beaches, such as San Jacinto and San Clemente. Karina is a founding member of the Community Bank and she likes it for the additional benefits that the institute offers, and because she has made many friends in the group. She is 23, single, and lives in her parents' home. She studied in the Universidad Técnica De Manabí [Technical University of Manabi] and obtained a Bachelor's of Education Sciences. She has a drinks sales business and a bar in which she sells all types of drinks, such as beers, colas, juices and others. She works every day from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm, and all day on weekends. She tells us that she has had this business for two years and used one of her loans to start the business. This loan is to purchase beer, colas, and fruit for juice, among other items. Her goal is to have an appointment in a school or university.
