A loan of $1,075 helped to buy tops to improve her business.

Carmen's story

Carmen is 49 years old. She lives in her own home with her young son Carlos. Together they work hard to get ahead in life.

Since she was a little girl, Carmen helped her mother sell meals and she continued in this line of work until a few years ago. She left the business because the premises she was renting were very expensive. Four years ago she changed her business and she currently sells women's tops, together with a friend, from a stall located in a very busy market.

From time to time Carmen goes out to buy merchandise and leaves her stall with her business partner. In this way, they don't lose any sales. What Carmen most likes about her business is that the market is very busy and she makes a lot of sales and good profits. In the future, she is planning to expand her business and set up a store where she can sell clothes.

This is Carmen's 24th loan with MFP and she pledges to make her repayments on time so that she can access further loans in order to continue making progress. Carmen plans to invest her money in buying a larger quantity of light tops for the summer season and, in this way, she hopes to improve her profits.
