Soro Yiriwa Group's story

The members of the group Soro Yiriwa (3 married women and 1 widow) have an average age of 31 and they each have 2 children. They live in monogamous families in Bougoula Ville, a quarter in the city of Sikasso (3rd administrative region of Mali).

They seek their eighth loan through the microfinance institution of Soro Yiriwaso (Kiva Field Partner) in order to meet client demand. This group of women sells fruits and vegetables with Madiala C., the leader of the group.

With her loan she hopes to purchase 30 sacks of oranges. She purchases her products in the large market in Sikasso and in the surrounding villages.

The fruit is resold in the large market of Sikasso and from their home to a clientele made up of both men and women. The sales are completed in cash and credit.

She expects to earn a monthly income of 50 FCFA, a part of which will be used to help her husband meet the daily expenses, and some will be reinvested back into the business.
