Luciano's story

Luciano lives with his wife and four children in San Sebastián district. San Sebastián district is located in Cusco province, in Cusco department, 15 minutes from the Plaza de Armas of the archeological capital of South America (Cusco). Cusco is a delightful city which dates back to the time of the Incas. Cusco is built on the site of the ancient Incan citadel.

Luciano provides public transport services in his taxi. He has been providing transport services for several years and his business is doing ok.

Luciano and his wife also have a small business raising and selling young animals such as chickens. They have pens at home where they keep their animals, selected according to their size and breed. They sell their animals to restaurant chefs, neighbors, friends and regular customers. Their customers prepare delicious dishes such as, for example, chicken soup, chicken stew, etc.

With his loan, Luciano hopes to receive 1,800 Peruvian soles. He would like to use this money to increase his business capital and to buy merchandise such as, for example, 'double-breasted chickens'.

Luciano belongs to Asociación Arariwa's "Nueva Esperanza" (New Hope) community bank. The bank is in its second year and it is well run by a board of directors.
