A loan of $425 helped to purchase ingredients to make tamales.

Marcelina's story

Señora Marcelina U. M. lives in Tecpatan in the state of Chiapas, Mexico. She is a single mother with two children that are married. She has two school-age grandchildren that live with her and are the children of Señora Marbella.

She is requesting a loan to purchase ingredients to make tamales. She has been making tamales for some time now and says that so far things are going well. She was drawn to this activity because, in order to help her children get ahead, she needed to find a way to use her time to earn the income needed to pay her minor household expenses.. With the earnings she obtains she will buy more ingredients because she runs out when she makes large quantities of tamales. She will also use her earnings to make her loan payments on time.

Her dream is to be able to buy materials to plaster her house as well as to also continue working for as long as God grants her life and to get ahead in these times.
