A loan of $425 helped buying various store goods.

Mariam's story

Ms. Mariam S. is 51 years old and the mother of nine children living in a traditional family with her husband, her co-spouse, and her children. She resides in Fana city, in the Fana Coura district, Dioïla prefecture, Region of Koulikoro, Republic of Mali.

Mariam did to attend school.  She buys and sells a variety of store goods with the goal of meeting her own needs and those of her children.  She just started with this micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso, which she discovered through her friends and family.  Mariam intends to use her loan to purchase: packs of Maggie (bouillon cubes), sugar, oil, and several other items at the Fana market. She accepts cash or credit in her sales to a customer base composed of women and men.

She envisions making an average monthly profit 35,000 francs CFA that will be used to cover the loan payments and to meet expenses related to healthcare, food, and schooling.  The rest will be reinvested in her business.
