Vilma Patricia

A loan of $600 helped to buy more corn to make tortillas.

Vilma Patricia's story

Vilma Patricia C. A. lives in the municipality of Santiago de María in the department of Usulután. She is a single mother and has a daughter of 10 years. She strives every day to give her best for the benefit of her daughter. Vilma owns a tortilla business. The tortillas are made from corn. Her business is located in her house where people come and buy the tortillas. She has been for 4 years in this activity. Tortillas are a basic food in San Salvador. People eat them two or three times a day, and this makes her business stable enough. Vilma has a strong desire to expand her activity, because she will use her earnings to provide her daughter with everything she needs. Her daughter is the main reason why she wants to improve her business. This is why Vilma applies for a loan to buy more corn and thus be able to serve more customers and earn more money to pay for household expenses.
