Mrs. Ren R. is forty years old and a widow with a child who is a student in a local school. She also helps with her mother’s businesses. Ren was selected to be the village’s bank president and head of the twelve-member bank loan in Svay Ming village, Kandal province. Each member of this village will use their money to support their different purposes.

Ren owns a small shop from which she sells soup, noodles and coffee to the local villagers. Since her business is doing so well, Ren is asking for a loan to buy more noodles and coffee to expand her business. With this loan, she hopes to increase her income and improve her family’s living conditions.
