23 De Septiembre Group's story

The “23 de Septiembre” lending group is starting its first cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the German Busch Office. It has eight members, and the community bank is directed by a board of a president, treasurer and a secretary. The members' businesses are varied: sewing pants, laundry, sewing sweatsuits and sports clothing, weaving blankets, and selling second-hand clothing. Mrs. Wendy, the community bank president, has a business in which she sows pants and clothing in general. She has had this business for four months. She learned sewing in the city of Cochabamba, taking a dressmaking course. She currently makes clothing on order. Mrs Wendy hopes to purchase a straight sewing machine that will allow her to increase her production. Mrs Wendy is a young women, age 22. On top of this business, she shares the care of her two children with her partner. She is the president of Pro Mujer.
