A loan of $1,600 helped a member to buy corn, rice seeds, fertilizers.

Sann's Group's story

Eleven people are forming this village bank loan. They are living in Chong Kaoh village in Kandal province. The members of this village loan selected Mrs. Sann S., 43 years old, as the village bank president. The members will each use their portion of the loan for their different needs.

Mrs. Sann S. and her husband, Mr. Ing Sok, are farmers who own a 1.2-hectare piece of land which they use to cultivate rice and corn for a living. To support this farm, Mrs. Sann S. decided to ask for a loan to buy corn, rice seeds, and fertilizers. Aside from farming their own land, they also work as farm laborers to earn a little salary to support their family.

This couple works hard to support their three children, who are attending the local school.
