Estrellas De Mayo Group's story

La “Estrellas de Mayo” ["Stars of May"] group is starting its ninth cycle with Pro Mujer, part of the German Busch central office. The group is made up of 8 members and is directed by a board, the head of which is a president. The members of the community bank have various businesses; bread sales, clothing sales, wool, rug braiding, a store, woven sweaters, baby clothing sales, and the sale and production of pastries. Rosa, the community bank president, says that she has been part of the Estrellas de Mayo group for two cycles, approximately one year. She is a married mother of two children. She has a neighbourhood store in her own home. Given the schedule required to tend to a neighbourhood store, from very early to very late, her children help her. Maria says that this business was born from her own initiative. Her first loan was 2000 Bs., and the loan that she is currently requesting is for 2000 Bs. Both loans were to be invested in the purchase of products for her store. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she replied taht she likes the training.
