Alborada Group's story

The Alborada group is starting its seventeenth cycle in Pro Mujer, as part of the Villa Exaltacion central office. The group is made up of eight members. The community bank is directed by a board: a president, treasurer and a secretary. The members' businesses are varied: sewing, a grocery store, fruit sales, appliance sales, brick sales, fruit sales, games sales and toys sales. Maria, the community bank treasurer, says that she has been part of the Alborada group for 13 cycles, approximately six and a half years. She is currently separated. She is a mother of two children and her business is fruit sales. Maria says that she has sold fruit since she was a child, first with her mother and later alone. Her first loan was $100 US (700 bs). The loan that she is currently requesting is 2000 Bs. Both loans were to be invested in the purchase of fruit. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she replied that she likes everything.
