A loan of $725 helped buy a counter and materials for her beauty salon.

Mirtha's story

Mirtha, 43, is married to Erwin, 48. They have two children: Isabel, 21, and Edwin, 12. The family lives in their own house, located in the city of San Ramón (in Peru's central jungle).

Mirtha is well-known for her happiness. 10 years ago she opened a grocery store, where she sold beer, soft drinks, ice cream and other staple goods. The store gave her such a good income that now, with her daughter Isabel, she has begun to invest in opening a beauty salon in a central location in the city where she is sure she will do well. Now Mirtha is thinking about supplying her business by purchasing the most modern equipment to meet her customers' expectations and grow with time.

This is her eighth loan with MFP, and as a member of her communal bank she is happy to be able to join such a united association that has no major problems. When she receives the loan, she will be able to purchase for her beauty salon a glass counter, which costs on average 680 new soles. Mirtha will invest the rest of the money in necessary supplies for starting the business.
