A loan of $900 helped to buy more furniture to satisfy her customers' demands.

Rocio's story

Rocío is 39 years old and lives with 44 year-old Jorge. They have one son, 18 year-old Jorge. They live together in their own home, in the town of San Ramón (central Peruvian jungle).

Rocío belongs to the "Las Magníficas" group. This group of women are completely independent and Rocío is motivated by it. She has, for some years, been working jointly with the group and because of this she managed to open a restaurant where she sells creole dishes. She also provides meals to 15 people who have breakfast, lunch and dinner, enjoying the rich dishes that Rocío cooks. She also prepares snacks for any occasion.

Very recently Rocío ventured into the furniture sales business, travelling once a week to buy merchandise which she sells to people who know about her business and are constantly requesting new furniture for their houses. For this reason, in the future she would like to open a large and spacious furniture store.

This is Rocío's eighth loan with MFP and, as one of the longest-standing members of her community bank, she feels happy to belong to a group of independent and hard-working women. She will use her loan to buy more furniture to fill her customers' orders.
