Am S. A., 35, has a business running a moto-taxi in the Takeo province. He has been operating this business since 2008 and is able to make about $5 of profit each day. His wife sells groceries at home, typically making $2 per day.
This couple has five young children; two are in school and three are too young to attend.
To earn more, Am S. A. will purchase rice and take off the husk with the intention of reselling the rice and turning a profit. He is confident that this will be a good business venture and sees it as a tool to increase his income and raise his family’s standard of living.
