A loan of $325 helped to buy ranch chickens and food for raising them.

Sofia's story

Sofia V. is 69 years old and lives in the municipality of Coapilla in Chiapas state, Mexico. She is married and although her children are already married, she is responsible for a boy who she has raised since he was small. His name is Román and he is 14 years old.

She requested this loan to buy feed for and to raise ranch chickens, which she will then sell in the town where she lives. She says that with the blessing of God, her business is going well. She has been doing this for a year now and has not had any problems with her business.

She started this business on her own inspiration, as her husband needed support to make enough income for their household. Although all of their children are married, she doesn't want them to lack anything.

She is saving up her income from selling chickens so that she can buy a small plot of land for the boy they are raising. Although he is not her son, she loves him like her own.

Her dream is to continue working until God decides it is her time to go, and by doing so, to be able to buy the piece of land she would like her son to have.
