A loan of $825 helped to buy ingredients for making tamales and bread such as corn, oil and meat.

Noemi's story

Noemí lives in Coapilla, in the State of Chiapas, in Mexico. She is married to Arisain Trejo Estrada and they have two children in their care: 8 year-old Daniel and 4 year-old Hilton.

Noemí will invest her loan in buying ingredients for making bread such as: flour, oil, eggs, milk, cheese, etc. and ingredients for making tamales such as: corn, oil, meat, poblano chili peppers, etc. This will help her in making her products.

Noemí is in this business because her family is the most important thing for her and to get them ahead in life she needed to start working but without neglecting her children. For this reason, she started making tamales and bread and selling them to her neighbors.

Noemí uses the profits from her business to buy more ingredients so that she can continue in her business and also saves some money for any need that might arise such as an illness, an additional school expense, etc.

Noemí says "Thank you Fundación Realidad and KIVA for putting your trust in people like myself and for supporting us in our businesses".
