A loan of $650 helped to make tortillas / grocery store.

Rosa Adilia's story

Rosa López is 45 years old, married and has one child. She lives in the city of Estelí but is originally from El Regadiío district. In order to improve her standard of living, she emigrated to the city 25 years ago. She has more than 10 years' experience in sales. She has a small grocery store and a tortilla bakery.

When Rosa set up her business, she used to travel to Managua to buy vegetables and soda to sell but she gradually stocked her grocery store with more and more products over time. Her husband helps her to look after the grocery store when she is selling tortillas in the morning and when she finishes with her tortillas she takes over in the store.

Rosa is requesting this loan to buy supplies for her tortilla bakery since demand has risen a lot. She hopes to be able to pay off her loan quickly so that she can take another to increase her tortilla production and make progress in her grocery store.
