A loan of $375 helped to purchase 3 bags of organic fertilizer.

Chriss's story

Chriss, 27, is married to Ángel, 26. They have a beautiful daughter, Angelis, who is one year old. They live as a family in their own home, located in the Unión Palomar community (central Peruvian rainforest).

Eight years ago, Chriss took on the commitment to do the arduous work of planting, fertilizing, and harvesting. She says that she has liked the country and the production of the land since she was a little girl.

Now she has more than 2 hectacres of agricultural land, where she plants plantains on a large scale and harvests them twice a month. What Chriss likes best is being able to sell her delicious plantains through intermediaries, who willingly advise her on new markets where she can expand her sales and offer her fruits.

In the future she wants to become a wholesale vendor and be able to travel around the whole country offering fruits native to the rainforest.

This is her first loan with MFP, and she hopes to get ahead in life together with her communal bank that is made up of people who are committed to progress. With the requested loan, she plans to purchase 3 bags of organic fertilizer, which she will apply to beds of coffee that she recently planted.
