A loan of $375 helped to buy manure and fertilizer.

Gessell's story

Gessell, 36, is an unassuming, hard working man living with his wife, Aída, 31, and their six beloved children in his own house for whom he wants to provide a better quality of life.

The hard work Gessell pus into his fields have led to his banana, manioc and coffee crops being among the most productive in the settlement. He works tirelessly because he knows that his family’s daily food depends on his efforts. What he most enjoys about his work is harvesting the land. He’s been in this line of work for 10 years and considers the most difficult part being having to transport his crops to the city of Pichanaki which is where he sells them.

In time he hopes to buy more land to increase production. This is his first loan with MFP and he expects to repay all his installments on time so as not to damage the members of the communal bank where he is highly respected because of the responsibility he demonstrates.

He will use the requested 1000 new soles to buy manure and fertilizer to improve his land’s productivity.
