A loan of $375 helped buy animals and feed for livestock business.

Santos Selene's story

Santos, 35, lives with her husband and three children in Las Lomas, an agricultural zone in Peru's Piura region, about three hours from the city of Chiclayo.

Santos operates a business raising and selling animals. She raises sheep and goats in pens near her house. She grazes the animals in open pastures and, when they reach an appropriate size, she sells them to locals or to outside buyers passing through the area. The income from the business allows her to help her husband, a farmer, support the family.

Santos is applying for a loan so that she can buy more animals and a balanced supply of feed for the business. She says the investment will increase her sales and that the extra income will help her family. She is asking Edpyme Alternativa for 1,000 new soles so that she can invest in her business.
