A loan of $500 helped purchase of organic and chemical fertilizers.

Maximiliano Guillermo's story

Maximiliano, age 65, is a hardworking man who farms corn and pipián squash. He lives in the Jiquilisco departament of Usulután with his wife, who sells clothing, and his children. Maximiliano has been farming for 30 years and is currently planting four plots of land: three plots of corn and one plot of cucumber. The harvest from these plots will be Maximiliano's only source of income.

He is requesting a loan to purchase agricultural supplies, like organic and chemical fertilizers. With the fertilizer, Maximiliano will be able to obtain a good harvest this season. His goal is to farm both seasons in the next few years and sell the harvest at market to pay his family's living expenses.
