A loan of $725 helped to increase her stock of animals to be able to increase her sales during the festive season.

Rosa Lily's story

Rosa, age 47, is separated from her husband and lives with her family in the area of San Luis, a rural area where the main economic activities are agriculture and trading. It is located in a district called La Victoria, 15 minutes from Chiclayo district.

Rosa dedicates her time to raising and selling small animals: ducks, turkeys, chickens and sheep, which she keeps in different pens outside her home. She fattens them up to sell each month in the city of Chiclayo. She also has a small store in her house, where she can offer her customers a range of household necessities and groceries. She uses the income she makes from this to keep herself active and bring up her family.

Rosa wants to increase her stock of animals so as to increase her sales over the festive season, and believes that seeking a loan from [field partner] Edpyme Alternativa is the best way to do so. She is seeking a loan of 2,000 Soles, which she plans to invest in buying small animals and animal feed.
