Nueva Ilusion Group's story

The Communal Bank “Nueva Ilusión” from Cascada is seeking its first loan; this group has 8 members.

The women have different businesses, for example: selling traditional skirts and macramé items, hardware stand, selling food, selling keys, shoe store, selling perfume, making traditional skirts, and handicrafts of cloaks, macramé and traditional skirts.

This Communal Bank is directed by an executive board, and the leader is the president, Mrs. Valentina.

Mrs. Valentina has a home with her husband and three children. Mrs. Valentina’s business is making traditional skirts and cloaks. She says that when there isn’t a demand for products she works moving bricks.

She learned to make traditional skirts because this was her dream as a little girl; now she does it as a business, generally based on customer orders. Her loan for Bs. 2000 will be used to buy the fabric, button loops, and sack cloth.

When we asked Mrs. Valentina why she likes Pro Mujer she responded that it is the savings and health services.

In this group: Valentina, Celia, Zenobia, Rosa Ana, Emilia, Lucia, Mariana, Cristina
