Cristy V., 33 years old, is from the town of Banga. She is married and has 2 children. Cristy is a farmer. She plants and harvests rice crops that she sells at the market. She also grows pigs for fattening. Cristy also put up a small sari-sari (variety) store where she sells soy sauce and other products. Cristy does all these to support her family.
Cristy joined CEVI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Cristy has successfully repaid a previous loan from CEVI. Cristy is requesting a new loan of 10,000 PHP which will be used to buy farm inputs and piglets. She plans to save the additional revenue generated from the business as a reserve for future emergencies.
