María Armita's story

María Armita is a 40 year-old mother who lives with her husband and children in Tambogrande district. This is an agricultural district located in Piura region, more than four hours from Chiclayo, the capital of Lambayeque region.

María Armita makes and sells food. She has a kiosk opposite her town's local health clinic. There she offers her customers 'ceviches' (raw fish marinated in lemon and garlic) and 'papas rellenas' (fried, stuffed potatoes) which are both traditional meals in this area. She also sells soda and food in general. Her business is very popular with her customers because of the good flavor of María's food and the kindness with which she serves her customers. She uses the profits that she makes from this business to help her husband cover their family expenses.

María Armita would like to acquire more supplies so that she can prepare more meals, increase her sales and make more profits. For this reason, she is requesting a loan for 1,000 Peruvian soles from Edpyme Alternativa to help her achieve her goal.
