A loan of $1,050 helped to remodel the site and buy more stock for her coffee shop.

Bertha Elena's story

Twenty years ago Bertha Elena P. D. L. started making products at home to distribute among various coffee shops in the town of Yarumal, Antioquia. She then got the opportunity to acquire a coffee shop in one of the municipal schools. Since then she has been working long hours at this activity to meet the needs of the establishment.

During school vacation time Bertha Elena faces great difficulty because no one comes by the school cafeteria which forces her to make products to distribute to other coffee shops in the city in order to meet family expenses because she’s separated.

This entrepreneur needs financial help to do some remodeling of the locale acquiring display cases and improving the existing ones as well as buying more stock items to be ready to start the new school term.

In the future, Bertha hopes to have additional cafeterias with the intention of generating employment and improving her quality of life.
