A loan of $1,200 helped to buy cosmetics, perfumes and creams.

Jessica Del Carmen's story

Jessica is 34 years old. She sells Avon-branded personal products such as cosmetics through a catalog (Avon is a company that helps enterprising women to sell cosmetics at a low cost). She also sells Esika-branded products.

Jessica lives in a peri-urban area called Paraíso. She started selling Avon cosmetics so that she would have enough income with which to provide her two children, aged 12 and 8, with a better life. She sells make up, perfume, creams and deodorants through a catalog at a low cost. She sells her products to acquaintances and neighbors. With her husband's help, Jessica also sells food at weekends to guarantee her children's future.

To increase her merchandise, Jessica would like to use her loan to buy perfumes, make up and creams for her business. In the future, she would like to finish building her house since part of it is made from cane.
