Erna's story

Erna U. is a 54-year-old widow with three children. Her family has been engaged in cattle breeding and land cultivation for the past 17 years, as a means of subsistence.

Erna’s hardworking efforts allowed her to develop a farm with two cows and ten sheep. She also cultivates beans and perennial herbs which serve as forage for her cattle. Now, Erna plans to use the loan of 50,000 Kyrgyz Soms to broaden her business by purchasing sheep and manure to fertilize her land. With the revenue from this investment, Erna plans to reconstruct her barn.
