Las Rosas De Maria Group
Ysabel has only been the President of the “LAS ROSAS D. MARIA” communal bank for three months. The bank has 7 members who know each other because they are neighbors (they live on the same street). They named their communal bank that way because they used to meet at María’s house, a former communal bank member, which had a rose garden, thus the name: “LAS ROSAS D. MARIA.”
Ysabel is 36 years old and a single mother of two dependent children. Because of this, Ysabel has been selling DVDs and snacks for the last three years. In this way, she can help her partner meet household expenses.
Ysabel will use the loan she’ll get from Edaprospo-Prosperidad to buy stuffed toys to sell during the Christmas season but her dream is to open a beauty salon or a restaurant and with Edaprospo-Prosperidad she will accomplish it.

This is a Group Loan
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
