Cécile's story

Cécile was born in 1958 in Missérété in the Ouémé district. She is married to a driver called Justin with whom she has six children who all attend school; three of the children are in her care. She has lived with her family in Ekpè, the Sèmè-Podji region, and the couple see to the family's needs together. Cécile did not attend school.
She makes 'akassa' (a local drink based on corn starch) which she sells from her home. Cécile sources her corn from Dantokpa, the international market of Benin. Cécile successfully repaid a previous loan received from ALIDé. She is seeking another loan from them in order to boost her business and grow her customer base and revenue.
