A loan of $4,150 helped a member purchase paints in bulk.

El Algodonal Florece Group's story

“Matizados Omar” is the business owned by Sra. Rosa that is named after her oldest son. She is a member of the group “El Algodonal Florece” (The Cotton Blossom), which consists of twelve members and is one of the largest and most enthusiastic of EDAPROSPO. Rosa’s husband is an employee at a paint factory and sells paint on credit and at low cost. Together they opened their business from a small stand at the local market. Eventually the demand for paint grew, so they had to find a larger location in a more centralized part of the city and have done very well.

Rosa is in charge of managing and perfecting the business. Her goal later on is to have more money so that she can buy a store because she currently rents her location. With the money from this loan, she will buy more paints in bulk in order to get them at lower cost.
