A loan of $725 helped to buy ingredients for expanding his business of selling soy- and oat-based beverages.

Julio Cesar's story

Julio Cesar is 48 years old, single, and lives with his family in Diego Ferré, an urban area on the outskirts of the city of Chiclayo. One of the most commercialized cities in northern Peru, it is the capital of the Lambayeque region.

He has been making and selling soy- and oat-based drinks for five years. He buys his ingredients at the main wholesale market in Chiclayo and sells them by the liter in different neighborhoods of Chiclayo. He does this using a mototaxi (a motorized vehicle that consists of a motorcycle with a cabin attached for carrying cargo or passengers).

Julio Cesar would like to expand his business by buying more ingredients so that he can increase his level of sales and bring in more profits. This is why he decided to request a loan of 2,000 nuevos soles from Edpyme Alternativa.
