A loan helped to purchase balanced feed.

Maria Esther's story

Maria is forty-three years old. She maintains a stable home, living with her husband and their three children. The family lives in the district of Tambogrande. Tambogrande is a semi-tropical zone which is populated primarily by farmers. Many residents have small fruit plantations or raise animals.

Maria raises sheep in corrals near her home. She feeds and cares for the animals until they reach the appropriate size and weight to be sold for their meat in local markets. The animals play an important role in meeting the nutritional needs of local residents and are an integral part of the local culinary tradition. Maria’s husband manages a small parcel of land the family owns and also works as a farmhand helping local growers with the maintenance and harvest of their crops.

This will be Maria’s first loan from Edpyme Alternativa. She plans to use the loan to purchase balanced feed for her animals in order to improve their health and productivity. She hopes to be able to take advantage of bulk discounts. She has planned this investment to increase the sustainability of her business and improve the living standard of her family.
