H. Philomène's story

H.Philomene was born in 1950 in Savalou, in the Collines Department of Benin. Married to a Mr. Zondakpo, Philomee is the mother of four children, only one of whom is now in her care. Some of her children study. For about 25 years, Philomene has been living in the Avotrou district in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. The spouses jointly take care of the family budget. Philomene did not attend school. In order to support herself, Philomene sells corn; as a secondary business activity, she sells charcoal out of her home. Philomene stocks up in the north of Benin. She has been in this line of business for about a dozen years, and had five prior loans from ALIDé, all repaid. With the goal of growing her business and increasing her revenues during this holiday season before the new year, Philomene is seeking a new loan.
