A loan of $1,475 helped a member to buy fabric and fabric dyes.

Mujeres Activas Group's story

This committee was formed thanks to Mrs. Blanca Rosa O. de Candia, who lives in the city of Villarrica. She extended the invitation and they all were happy to accept. They formed the urban women's committee called Comité Mujeres Activas [Active Women's Committee].

The members of the committee work in artisanal crafts. This is work that they inherited from their parents; it is passed down from generation to generation.

They make beautiful articles such as: shirts, tablecloths and aopo'i. The members also work in selling food products, as well as produce, as well as cutting hair.

Blanca works in this same activity. She is the president of the group and an artisan. She is asking for the loan to buy the fabric for aopo'i and fabric dyes.

The members of this committee are grateful to Kiva and the Fundación Paraguaya for the support they have offered and they say that thanks to it they are going to be able to continue working and giving their families a better quality of life.
