A loan of $625 helped purchasing canned products, corned beef, sardines, milk powder, condened milk, etc,.

Gertrude Mathilde's story

A 40-year old merchant, married and the mother of four, between 5 and 20 years of age. Not having been able to find a job after finishing secondary school, she opened a grocery store, in which she sells canned food, milk powder and condensed milk, sardines, yoghurt, etc. Her usual sales range from 25,000 and 80,000 West African Francs per day. She repaid her [previous] loan without issues and was able to do save a good sum of money. With this second loan, she would like to strengthen her business and expand her stock. Very pragmatic, she would like to be a true businesswoman and open a second store shortly afterwards.
