A loan of $725 helped to make repairs to his mototaxi.

Rafael Daniel's story

Rafael is twenty-three years old. He lives in a rural portion of Jose Leonard Ortiz, a large neighborhood on the northern side of the city of Chiclayo. Jose Leonardo Ortiz is famous in the northern deserts of Peru for its massive wholesale market which is called the market of Moshoqueque. Rafael was raised in the area, having lived there for over twenty years. He currently resides with his wife and his two young children.

Three years ago, Rafael purchased a mototaxi (an automated rickshaw). Since then he has been running the mototaxi on a regular basis, providing transportation services to residents of the city of Chiclayo and nearby areas. He carries his passengers to and from work, meals, shopping trips, or social events. Additionally, at times he is contracted to haul large quantities of merchandise or construction supplies in order to restock local businesses.

The loan will be used to make repairs to Rafael’s mototaxi, given that it is now an older machine in need of a general overhaul and a few new parts. Rafael hopes that this will reduce his ongoing maintenance expenses and help him to continue using the mototaxi for the long term.

Rafael has worked with Edpyme Alternativa in the past. This will be his third loan with our institution. He has used credit responsibly in the past and paid on time. He has good references among his neighbors and local businesses.
