A loan of $375 helped to buy manure and insecticides.

Fabian's story

Fabián is 40 years old. He is a very modest and hard-working man who lives in his own home together with his wife, 34 year-old Isabel, and his four beloved children for whom he would like to provide a better quality of life.

Through hard work, Fabián has managed to give his crops a good start. Every morning he gets up very early to irrigate and care for his cacao, coffee and coca crops which he will later sell in the city of San Francisco since that is where he obtains the best prices for his products. What Fabián most likes about his work is that he can enjoy the freedom of working in his green fields. He has been in this business for 24 years and he considers the most difficult part of his work to be the fact that he has to work on his land all day long without having much time left to do anything else.

In the future, Fabián hopes to be able to buy more land to increase his production. This is his sixth loan from MFP. He knows that this loan will help him quite a bit in making progress in his business which is why he is prepared to make all his repayments on time. He is a very responsible member of his community bank which means he is very well respected. Fabián will use the 1,000 Peruvian soles he is requesting to buy manure and insecticides for his crops.
