A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a head of dairy cattle to increase his operating capital.

Victor's story

Víctor is a young man of 18. He is the youngest of four siblings and has just returned from Argentina where he worked for a dressmaking company for 3 years. He belongs to a family of few economic means which means that he hasn't managed to study, even for his high school diploma. He only studied up to third grade.

Víctor lives with his mother in Maica Central community. He lives in a room which is still not yet fully built.

Víctor currently works producing raw milk like his mother and siblings. With the savings he made from his work in Argentina, he bought 3 heads of dairy cattle. He also works as a construction worker with his uncle, who is a contractor, while his mother looks after the cattle. However, every morning Víctor goes out very early to collect fodder for the day.

Víctor will use his loan to buy another head of dairy cattle so that he can increase his milk production. His dreams and goals are to build his own house on a plot of land that his mother will give him as an inheritance and, most importantly, grow in his milk-producing business.
