Señor Olegario is a farmer. He lives in the highest sector of the province. His production is seasonal, producing one crop a year. He plants potatoes, faba beans, oca (an edible root) and cereals. His entire family works, sometimes with help from neighbors like the aine and mink’a (indigenous groups in the area), according to the customs of the region.

The conditions in which they live are very modest. They have a mud house with a straw roof that is constructed without any planning for a dwelling. The enclosure for their animals surrounds the house. The entire family lives there.

The loan that Señor Olegario has applied for is to purchase agricultural land since he doesn’t have enough land to plant more. In this way he is going to enlarge his production in order to improve living conditions for his family.
